Starlight Care has leading Occupational Therapists (OT) who will work with patients in their own homes on their customized design treatment programs. The OTs will work towards improving either your patient's or your motor skills, or other areas of treatment. This treatment will consist of exercises and activities to a specific area, areas that are weak or need improvement. If you recently expected an injury or you have a patient who needs a little help with everyday activities, we can help develops, recover, improve and maintain the skills needed for daily living and working.

What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapy is an allied health practice that that will use assessment and intervention to develop, recover, or maintain the meaningful activities, or occupations, of individuals, groups, or communities through the therapeutic use of everyday activities. OTs help you return to the life that you love. We recognize that an injury or illness can be devastating, and that a huge part of the healing process involves being able to participate in your daily life in ways that matter to you the most. Our role is to serve as your guide, by helping you establish your health and life goals—and then working with you to find the interventions, technology, and equipment that work best for YOU to get you where you want to be.

How do I know if Occupational Therapy is for me?

If you experienced an injury or if you are noticing muscle weakness, an Occupational Therapist can help you get back to yourself. We will come to your home and help improve your fine and basic motor skills, strength, dexterity, and range of motion. Even small improvements in these areas can make all the difference when it comes to completing an everyday task. Our Occupational Therapist will develop a treatment plan designed specifically for you, with activity types that will help you reach your specific goals. This will include providing recommendations on any special equipment you may need and provide an evaluation of your progress.
